Most cultures have their unique brand of cooking, and the South is no different. Southern cooking is yet another way that the culture expresses itself.
Southern cooking, like most cooking, is designed around a social agenda. Eating an event where you can both spend time with loved-ones and develop friendships with strangers.
These goals are best met at events like a crawfish boil or over settings such as a BBQ pit (at least in our opinion...)
Cooking (and eating) becomes just another way that people can enjoy each other. This reflects a culture that is respectful and compassionate. Southerners care about each other and value events where that is encouraged.
So what kind of cooking is best for the soul? That probably depends on who you are, but the South has developed a few food genres that get pretty close to perfect.
Nothing warms the heart like Southern cooking . However, we must make sure that as we learn to enjoy each other better, we need not sacrifice our health to do so.
This realization has lead to a new era of Southern cuisine that offers all of the taste of traditional food without the negative consequences to your health. This combination is crucial for maintaining a sustainable Southern culture.
You will have to eat everyday for the rest of your life. You may as well do it right.
We really do care about promoting a more virtuous and passionate culture throughout the South. But we obviously can't do it by ourselves.
Everything we do is incomplete without commuity involvement. That means our partners are of utmost importance to us.
And as far as we are concerned,
you are our most important partner.
